Alexandra Theohari is the founder and designer of KLOTHO, a brand founded in 2016 and based in Rethymno, Crete.
Born and raised in Thessaloniki, Alexandra has a degree in English Literature, History of Arts and studies in Fashion Design. It was in Crete that Alexandra met her husband and where they started a family (they have four beautiful children).
Inspired by what she terms ‘the magic of the Island’ as well as a chance visit to a weaving studio of the Monastery of St Irene in Rethymno, that the journey of KLOTHO was born. Eager to apply the weaving techniques she witnessed at the Monastery; Alexandra started experimenting under the guidance of the nuns
Today, Alexandra and her team of weavers, creative directors and digital marketers work hard, to present a modern and fresh attitude to weaving items while maintaining an heirloom quality.
KLOTHO has already gained attention of the media and has featured in several magazines and documentaries.
Alexandra’s ambition is to run a conscious and thoughtful brand, hopefully global, that will treat weaving not as an art purposed for museums but as a living art aligned with our daily lives and modern lifestyle.
